“Get active. Get rewarded.” – Transforming a sports app into a scalable loyalty ecosystem.

How do you turn tracked kilometers into genuine loyalty? For the Swiss startup MUUVR, we radically sharpened the focus within just two months: moving away from a feature-driven sports app to a holistic loyalty platform. As Product Experience Lead, I completely rebuilt the product vision, the digital brand language, and the user journey. The result not only succeeded in the subsequent user validation but immediately secured a funding of €4.3M at the Investor Summit.

The Problem: Data tracking doesn't create loyalty
Classic sports apps are perfect at collecting data. However, to motivate users long-term, the market relies almost exclusively on digital badges and awards – an approach that quickly loses its appeal.
The MUUVR product, which had existed since 2019, had grown through many features but lost its core focus. The strategic challenge was to define "rewarding" not as a nice add-on, but as a profound value chain. It required a long-term promise.

The Path: Positioning, validation, and new business models
Within two months, we built a completely new foundation that clearly differentiates itself from the market:
The strategic shift: Users collect points ("MUUVs") through movement, which can be exchanged for real, physical rewards. We deliberately went beyond the purely digital reward.
Monetization through experience: We developed features that act as organic marketing assets for partners, replacing classic, disruptive advertising. The product integrates sales opportunities natively into the experience.
Research & Validation: Parallel to the concept phase, we launched in-depth user interviews to test the new positioning early on against real market needs and long-term retention.



Product Architecture & Design Excellence

Cross-functional brand identity: The existing analog brand did not work in the digital space. We developed a completely new digital brand language that creates a consistent identity across all platforms (App, Web, Social Media).

Psychology in the dashboard: The dashboard was designed so that every activity immediately triggers a visible change. Combined with streak and weekly goal logics, we convey a strong sense of progress and establish a motivating gamification loop.

The shop as a core journey: The rewards section was brought out of the niche and turned into the heart of the user journey via a Shopify integration. Through interactive sliders, users have full control over how many of their earned MUUVs they want to flexibly use during their purchase.
